Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care and routine procedures in our OSUP Community Medical Group. The role includes rooming patients, taking vitals, and assisting clinicians according to protocol.

You will handle patient interviews, prepare exam rooms, collect samples, and help manage office communications, with emphasis on teamwork and quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with the listed options or equivalent experience.
• Medical Assistant Program diploma or related certification.
• EMT-P or Military Medic training considered relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration).
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures; assist with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine lab tests.
• Manage and organize the medical office inbox and ensure timely communication with patients and providers.
• Oversee reception of incoming patient information and data gathering for providers.
