Join Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital as a Medical Assistant in the Cardiology department. This full-time position offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates and those who haven't worked at NM in over a year.

Job Description

The Medical Assistant supports physicians, nurses, and other medical staff by facilitating patient flow, assisting with patient care activities, and handling administrative tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and clean environment, promoting patient satisfaction, and safeguarding confidentiality.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure efficient patient flow: escort patients, verify identity, obtain vital signs, document visit reasons, and prepare exam rooms.
2. Assist with medical procedures such as ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, and specimen collection.
3. Maintain exam rooms, monitor equipment, and manage inventory.
4. Promote positive patient interactions and effective communication within the care team.
5. Perform delegated procedures safely and efficiently.
6. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Proof of eligibility for certification exams (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, NRCMA).
• For new graduates: a letter from the school or certifying body; for others: a certifying body letter.
• Within six months of employment, complete one of the recognized certifications (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA).
• High school diploma or GED.
• American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.
• Strong computer skills.

Preferred

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 1-2 years of ambulatory care experience.
• Experience with electronic medical records.
