Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care in Connellsville Township, PA, is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our urgent care operations. The role performs patient registration, prepares patients for exams, conducts vital signs, and assists clinicians with procedures in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma with preferred Medical Assisting training; BLS certification is required at hire. A sign-on bonus up to $2,000 and monthly incentive pay are available for eligible

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient care and procedures.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records.
• Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals.
• Perform opening/closing duties and maintain equipment quality checks.
• Support a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment.

Compensation and Benefits

Minimum hourly rate starts at $17/hour and is commensurate with experience. Monthly incentive pay is based on performance metrics. Sign-on bonus up to $2,000 (for eligible applicants.*)

Job Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma required
• Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred

Experience

• Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Front desk or patient registration experience preferred
• BLS certification required at time of hire (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)

Certification / Equivalent Experience

• Candidates with less than one year of Medical Assistant experience must hold one of the following certifications:
  • CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA)
  • CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)
  • RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (AMT)
  • NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT)
  • NRCMA – Nationally Registered Medical Assistant (NAHP)
• In lieu of a Medical Assistant certification, we will also accept:
  • 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience in a hospital or urgent care setting
  • 1+ years of phlebotomy experience
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN or RN)
  • EMT – Emergency Medical Technician
  • Paramedic
  • CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Candidates without an MA certification must obtain one within 15 months of hire
• CPOE certification for order entry is required within two weeks of start date.
