Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant II to join the Bariatric Surgery and Weight Management team in Dover, NH. The role supports a busy clinic, collaborates with nurses and providers, and focuses on patient-centered care throughout the surgical weight-management pathway.

You will chart, room, assist with visits, and manage follow-ups while building relationships with patients and families in a supportive, team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BLS/CPR and AED training required within 6 months of hire.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant course or diploma program, or a minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a medical office setting.
• Epic experience strongly preferred.
• National Medical Assistant Certification through AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT.

Responsibilities

• Support efficient patient flow throughout the practice with an approximate 20 patients per day.
• Assist during office visits, including chart preparation, rooming, examinations, procedures, and treatments as directed.
• Perform patient panel management tasks, including phone calls, test results, prescription refill support, and care coordination.
• Maintain neat, clean, organized, and safe patient care areas.
• Interact with patients and families in a professional, welcoming, and compassionate manner.
• Partner with nurses, providers, and fellow team members to create a positive care experience for every patient.
