Job summary

Qualifications

• Medical assistant diploma or certificate from an accredited program.
• National certification for medical assistants (CMA/NCCT/AMT).
• Clinical training with injections, venipuncture, and skin tests.
• Knowledge of normal and abnormal symptomology and life threatening problems.
• Ability to administer CPR.
• Ability to administer medications (oral, IM, subcutaneous).
• Ability to perform venipuncture with OSHA PPE safety.
• Ability to obtain accurate vital signs and refills.
• Assist in emergencies and office procedures.
• Knowledge of computerized patient care systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Interpersonal and effective verbal communication skills.
• Ability to set up and assist with procedures (audiometry, spirometry, etc.).
• Quality control and waived tests.
• Knowledge of handling biohazardous specimens and MSDS.
• Ability to work overtime in emergencies.
• Punctuality and attendance.
• Maintain harmonious work atmosphere and customer service.
• Ability to push, pull or carry 30 lbs or more.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in ambulatory setting; recognize normal/abnormal signs.
• Perform basic admin, clerical and technical support as needed.
• Assist during life-threatening emergencies.
• Assist in office procedures and patient flow.
• Order medical and clinical supplies and maintain inventory.
• Use computerized patient care systems and document care.
