Job summary

Missouri Ozarks Community Health in Ava, MO seeks a full-time Medical Assistant to join the nursing team and float between clinics as needed. You will support providers with routine patient care and a variety of procedures, with option for a 4- or 5-day work week.

Candidates should have current licensure, strong procedural knowledge, and the ability to maintain hygiene standards while traveling to other locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms then record vital signs, current complaint and pertinent history.
• Assist the medical provider in the treatment of patients and specialized procedures.
• Provide patient education and applicable preventative services.
• Maintain confidentiality of all records and patient information.
• Document all patient contacts, triage calls for minor health problems and refer more complex cases.
• Perform in-house CLIA-waived lab tests; log results and refer abnormal findings to the provider.
• Administer medications per provider order and medication protocols.
• Assist providers in outreach activities as directed.

Our team is seeking to add a full-time Medical Assistant to join our nursing team in Ava and float between our other clinics as needed. This person will help support our team by working directly with a medical provider assisting with routine patient care, preforming a wide variety of medical procedures. We offer the option to elect a 4- or 5-day work week.

We are looking for a motivated, results-driven professional with strong interpersonal skills who can think independently and act quickly and decisively when necessary. Candidates must possess current licensure, a strong knowledge of medical procedures and the ability to meet strict hygiene standards. Must have ability to travel to other clinic locations.

Responsibilities:

• Place patients in exam rooms then record vital signs, current complaint and pertinent history.
• Assist the medical provider in the treatment of patients and specialized procedures.
• Provide patient education, applicable preventative services.
• Maintain confidentiality of all records and patient information.
• Document all patient contacts, triage patient phone calls for minor health problems and refer complicated illnesses to the medical providers.
• Perform in-house, CLIA-waived laboratory tests per protocols. Log all lab testing, review laboratory results when returned from outside labs, check them off as received, and refer all abnormal results to the correct provider.
• Administer medications to patients per provider order and medication administration protocols.
• Assist providers in all outreach activities as directed.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program, preferred.
• Current Medical Assistant Certificate, preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with fellow healthcare providers.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills required.
• Current CPR (BLS) certification.
• Potential employees will receive and must pass a drug/alcohol screening before employment can begin.
