Job summary

Ottumwa Regional Physicians Adminis is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (Float) to provide clinical and administrative support across clinics in Ottumwa, IA. You will float to different sites as needed, performing patient assessments, specimen collection, basic diagnostics, and maintaining equipment.

Under supervision, you will manage administrative tasks, deliver quality patient care, and uphold excellent service. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with benefits included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• License: CMA or RMA or CCMA via the AAMA or NHA must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessments and treatments under supervision of physicians or nurses.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection; monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Maintain equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting; maintain exam areas.
• Perform administrative duties: filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Exhibit exceptional customer service with patients and teammates.

What we're looking for

The Medical Assistant performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office and reports to the Practice Manager.

How you'll contribute

• Exhibits exceptional customer service with patients and teammates.
