Job summary

ExpressCare Urgent Care Centers is hiring a Medical Assistant to support providers in a fast-paced Maryland setting. Responsibilities include triage, EMR documentation, vital signs, phlebotomy and specimen collection, and assisting with injections under physician supervision.

Preferred candidates will have an accredited MA program with externship, CPR certification, and CMA/RMA/CCMA considered a plus; overtime opportunities and full benefits available.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Professionalism and strong work ethic.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to comply with travel policy.
• Ability to stand, walk long shifts and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Take medical history and document in EMR with accuracy.
• Measure and record vital signs including BP, HR, temp, height/weight.
• Perform basic lab procedures (EKGs, phlebotomy, urine samples, flu nasal swabs).
• Prepare and administer medications under physician supervision.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies.
• Educate patients on discharge instructions and medications.
• Complete checklists, inventory and administrative logs.

Education

Medical Assistant program (accredited) and clinical externship

CMA, RMA, or CCMA Certification

CPR Certification
