Job summary

ExpressCare Urgent Care Centers in Maryland seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers and ensure smooth patient experiences. Responsibilities include triage, documenting medical history in EMR, taking vitals, performing basic lab work, and assisting with medications under supervision.

The role requires completion of an accredited MA program, CPR, and at least 1 year of clinical office or hospital experience. Competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and clinical externship (Required).
• CPR Certification (Required). CMA, RMA, or CCMA Certification preferred.
• Minimum one year of clinical experience in a physician’s office or hospital (preferred).
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• High level of professionalism and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take medical history and triage, document in EMR.
• Measure and record vital signs (BP, HR, temp, height/weight).
• Perform basic lab procedures (EKG, phlebotomy, specimen collection).
• Prepare and administer medications under physician supervision.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain instruments and supplies.
• Educate patients and provide discharge instructions and medication guidance.
• Complete checklists, inventory, and logs.
• Willingness to work 12+ hour shifts, weekends and holidays.
