Job summary

Sea Mar Community Health Centers in Washington offers a Medical Assistant – Apprentice (MA-A) role as part of a 12-15 month apprenticeship program approved by the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. The program prepares graduates to take the CCMA exam and advance within a community health setting.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills.
• Ambulatory or family medicine experience preferred.
• High school education or equivalent.
• BLS/CPR required (or within 90 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits, obtain histories and vital signs.
• Track and document clinical quality measures in the EHR.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and charting.
• Administer medications and immunizations within MA-A scope of practice.
• Coordinate referrals, labs, and specialty care.
• Support providers seeing an average of 18–21 patients per day.
• Provide excellent customer service using the AIDET model.
