Avera Pierre Clinic in Pierre, SD is hiring for a Medical Assistant Apprentice. The role combines full-time clinic work with online schooling to complete MA certification, with a 3-year commitment after certification.

Starting pay is $18 per hour, rising to $20 per hour upon completion of the MA program and certification. You will collect histories, vital signs, and assist providers, while maintaining documentation and patient flow.

Formación

• High School or GED Equivalent.
• CCMA - National Healthcareer Association within 2 Years.
• CMA - American Medical Certification Association within 2 Years.
• RMA - American Medical Technologists within 2 Years.
• NCMA - National Center for Competency Testing within 2 Years.

Responsabilidades

• Assists in care to patients as directed by provider.
• Provides accurate, completed, legible and timely documentation of all patient procedures in the medical record.
• Maintains timely flow of patients.
• Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
• Responsible for assisting with patient and family education on procedures, medication use, nutrition and disease processes.
• Greets patients and conducts clinical interview collecting history and vital signs.
• Labels and processes lab specimens according to lab procedures.
• Maintains exam room with necessary supplies and materials.
• Performs daily and weekly environmental cleaning and equipment quality control and maintenance.
• Cleans and sterilizes medical equipment and handles bio-hazardous waste.
• Provides back-up help for front desk personnel (phones, appointments, scheduling).
