Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care with direct patient care, rooming patients, and documenting vital signs. The role includes assisting with procedures, specimen collection, and coordinating scheduling and referrals in a fast-paced setting.

Under supervision, you will maintain clean exam rooms, ensure accurate EMR documentation, and collaborate with providers and the care team to keep daily operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months of hire or per department requirement.
• MA certification, EMT, CNA, or LNA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet, room, and prepare patients; record vital signs and intake information.
• Support clinical procedures (EKGs, specimen collection, point-of-care testing).
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms; ensure EMR documentation per guidelines.
• Assist with scheduling, check-in, referrals, and patient instructions as needed.
• Communicate with providers, patients, and team about delays or needs.
• Follow safety protocols and infection control standards; support workflow and efficiency.
• Escort patients to labs or ancillary services as needed.
