Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care teams. You will greet and room patients, take vital signs, and assist with procedures under supervision of licensed providers.

You will maintain exam rooms, document in the EMR, and help with scheduling and patient instructions as needed. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited MA program; BLS certification within six months is required or as per policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; MA training preferred.
• Certification in Medical Assisting or EMT/CNA/LNA preferred.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet, room, and prepare patients; record vital signs and intake information.
• Support clinical procedures such as EKGs, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms throughout the day.
• Document accurately in the EMR per guidelines.
• Assist with scheduling, check-ins, referrals, and patient instructions as needed.
• Communicate with providers, patients, and team about delays and follow-ups.
• Follow safety, infection control, and department policies.
• Support workflow and provider efficiency by anticipating needs.
