Job summary

CLS Health is seeking a friendly Medical Assistant to join our Allergy Clinic team in Houston, TX. If you enjoy patient care, teamwork, and are eager to learn allergy testing and immunotherapy, we want to meet you!

You'll welcome patients, document vitals and histories, assist with evaluations, skin testing, and injections, and help create a positive patient experience from check-in to check-out. We provide training and growth in a specialty clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; MA certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years MA experience in a clinical setting is desirable.
• Experience with allergy skin testing and immunotherapy injections is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of EMR systems and medical terminology.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for their appointments while creating a warm and friendly experience.
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medications, allergies, and chief complaints.
• Assist providers during allergy evaluations, follow-up visits, skin testing, patch testing, and other in-office procedures.
• Learn to assist with allergy immunotherapy treatments and administer injections as permitted by applicable regulations and clinic protocols.
• Monitor patients following allergy treatments and promptly communicate any concerns to the provider.
• Educate patients on allergy testing, treatment schedules, medications, and provider instructions.

What You'll Be Doing

Patient Care & Clinical Support

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
• Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• Comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR).
• A genuine passion for patient care and teamwork.
• A cheerful, personable attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
• Allergy or immunology experience is a bonus, but not required!
