Job summary

CLS Health PLLC in Houston, TX is seeking a friendly Medical Assistant to join our Allergy Clinic team. If you enjoy patient interaction, a positive attitude, and are eager to learn, you could be the right fit. Allergy experience is a plus, but we’ll train you in testing, immunotherapy, and specialty procedures.

We value compassionate, detail-oriented team players who thrive in a busy clinic and work well with physicians and coworkers. A strong foundation in patient care and EMR is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; MA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years Medical Assistant experience in an allergy or ENT clinic preferred.
• Experience with allergy skin testing and immunotherapy injections is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of EMR systems and medical terminology.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Current BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for appointments while creating a warm and friendly experience.
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medications, allergies, and chief complaints.
• Assist providers during allergy evaluations, follow-up visits, skin testing, patch testing, and other in-office procedures.
• Learn to assist with allergy immunotherapy treatments and administer injections as permitted by applicable regulations and clinic protocols.
• Monitor patients following allergy treatments and promptly communicate any concerns to the provider.
• Educate patients on allergy testing, treatment schedules, medications, and provider instructions.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.

• Comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR).
• A genuine passion for patient care and teamwork.
• A cheerful, personable attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
• Allergy or immunology experience is a bonus, but not required!
