Job summary

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Medical Assistant to join Cardiovascular Care of Covington in Covington, LA. The role involves interviewing patients, measuring vitals, preparing exam rooms, and supporting physicians during visits.

Description

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at Cardiovascular Care of Covington located in Covington, LA

Responsibilities:

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients' charts.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
• Help physicians examine and treat patients
• Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
• Operate electrocardiogram (EKG), or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.

Requirements:

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program
• Previous experience in Cardiology Preferred
• Experience with EKGs is required
