US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Medical Assistant to join Heart Clinic of Hammond in Hammond, LA. You will support physicians, take vital signs, prepare exam rooms, and maintain patient records in a day-shift, full-time setting.

The ideal candidate has completed a Medical Assistant program, with cardiology experience and EKG skills preferred. This role offers hands-on patient care in a fast-paced clinic and opportunities to grow within the team.

Formación

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Previous experience in Cardiology preferred.
• Experience with EKGs is required.

Responsabilidades

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs (pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height) and records data in charts.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Record patients' medical history and test results in medical records.
• Assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
• Prepare treatment rooms for examinations and keep them clean and organized.
• Operate EKGs or other equipment to perform routine diagnostic tests.

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at Heart Clinic of Hammond located in Hammond, LA

Responsibilities:

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
• Help physicians examine and treat patients
• Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
• Operate electrocardiogram (EKG), or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.

Requirements:

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program
• Previous experience in Cardiology Preferred
• Experience with EKGs is required
