Job summary

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Medical Assistant to join Cardiovascular Care of Covington in Covington, LA. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, recording vital signs, and preparing exam rooms for physicians.

Position requires completion of a Medical Assistant program and experience with EKGs; cardiology experience is preferred. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Cardiology experience preferred.
• Experience with EKGs is required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and measure vital signs (pulse, temp, BP, weight, height) and document findings.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Record patients' medical history and test results in charts.
• Assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
• Prepare treatment rooms and keep them clean and organized.
• Operate EKG or other equipment for routine diagnostic tests.
