Job summary

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ. The role supports providers in daily clinic operations and patient care, including preparing exam rooms, taking vitals, administering injections, and scheduling tests or referrals.

The ideal candidate has a Medical Assistant program completion, basic medical terminology knowledge, and Cardiac experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Cardiac experience or exposure is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms for examination.
• Measure and record vital signs.
• Administer injections and perform routine laboratory tests.
• Operate EKG, treadmill, and routine diagnostic equipment.
• Schedule tests and coordinate with providers.
• Assist with patient triage and telephone calls.
• Travel may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ to assist Provider(s) in daily operations of his/her clinic and patient care.

Overview

• Position Type: Full Time
• Job Shift: Day
• Education Level: High School Diploma/GED
• Travel Percentage: Up to 10%

Responsibilities:

• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts.
• Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests
• Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
• Screens telephone calls for physicians
• Preps patients for Treadmill Stress Tests
• Performs Treadmill Stress Tests as required
• Returns patient phone calls
• Calls in patient prescriptions
• Answers triage calls
• Travel required
• Other related duties may be assigned

Requirements:

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program
