Job summary

US Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and patient care at the Pima Heart and Vascular clinic. This full-time role focuses on room preparation, vital signs, patient intake, and routine testing.

Responsibilities

Job Location: Pima - Eastside Office - Tucson, AZ 85712Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High School Diploma/GEDTravel Percentage: Up to 10%Job Shift: DayJob Category: Other PositionsUS Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ to assist Provider(s) in daily operations of his/her clinic and patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts.
• Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests
• Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
• Screens telephone calls for physicians
• Preps patients for Treadmill Stress Tests
• Performs Treadmill Stress Tests as required
• Returns patient phone calls
• Calls in patient prescriptions
• Answers triage calls
• Travel required
• Other related duties may be assigned
