Job summary

US Heart & Vascular is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Providers at the Pima Heart and Vascular clinic in Tucson, AZ. You will assist in daily patient care, prepare exam rooms, take vital signs, and help with diagnostic tests and treatments.

The role requires completion of a Medical Assistant program and knowledge of medical terminology, with a Monday–Friday schedule and comprehensive benefits. Some travel may be required as part of duties.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Cardiac Experience.
• Knowledge in medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs and records information.
• Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
• Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
• Operates EKG, treadmill, and other equipment for routine tests.
• Gives injections or treatments and performs routine lab tests.
• Screens telephone calls for physicians.
• Preps patients for Treadmill Stress Tests and performs tests as required.
• Returns patient phone calls and prescriptions.
• Answers triage calls.
• Travel required.
• Other related duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts.
• Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests
• Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
• Screens telephone calls for physicians
• Preps patients for Treadmill Stress Tests
• Performs Treadmill Stress Tests as required
• Returns patient phone calls
• Calls in patient prescriptions
• Answers triage calls
• Travel required
• Other related duties may be assigned
