Job summary

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Fort Worth Heart team in Fort Worth, TX. The role involves taking vital signs, assisting clinicians during exams, performing venipuncture, and managing EHR records.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma/GED, completion of a MA program, BLS/CPR, CMA or RMA certification, and experience with EHR systems; bilingual in English and another language is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a medical assistant training program or equivalent experience.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Bilingual skills in English and another language.

Responsibilities

• Take and record patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
• Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Perform venipuncture and other laboratory tests as required, while adhering to safety protocols.
• Manage electronic health records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient information.
• Perform basic cardiology-related procedures, such as EKGs, Holter monitor placements, and stress tests, under supervision or as directed by physicians.
• Handle multi-line phone systems and communicate effectively with patients, scheduling appointments and addressing inquiries.
