Job summary

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our HeartPlace team in Arlington, TX. The role supports daily clinic operations, rooms patients, measures vitals, performs routine tests, and coordinates with physicians.

We require a Medical Assistant program completion; cardiac experience is preferred but not required; knowledge of medical terminology is expected; travel to satellite clinics may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and record vital signs (pulse, temp, BP, weight, height).
• Room patients in a timely manner with MA team support.
• Operate EKG, treadmill and other diagnostic equipment.
• Fill out testing orders per physician.
• Send prescriptions per physician orders.
• Explain and order testing to patients.
• Administer injections or treatments and perform routine labs.
• Coordinate travel to satellite clinics as needed.
• Protect patient health information and privacy.

Description

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at HeartPlace located in Arlington, TX

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients' charts.
• Work with the medical assistant tech to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test
• Fill out testing orders per physician
• Send out prescriptions per physician orders
• Orders & explain testing to the patient
• Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
• Set up procedures with hospitals to include filling out hospital form and faxing them back
• Review procedure and instructions with the patient
• Escort patients to check-out
• Check voicemails & enter messages into eCW
• Return patient calls/tasks, even if only to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail, and that an answer is being sought
• Ensure that charts have been checked and the proper paperwork is included
• Travel required· Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinics
• Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
