Job summary

CenterWell Senior Primary Care in Pasadena, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant who will be the first contact for patient care, performing clinical tasks and administrative duties onsite. You will support pre-visit planning, take histories, document vitals, and assist with procedures.

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish, 1+ year MA experience, phlebotomy and CPR certification, with documentation in EHR/EMR including quality measures.

Qualifications

  • Active CMA/RMA certification from listed organizations.
  • Completion of an MA school/training program or 5+ years MA experience with provider approval.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year MA experience.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Medication/vaccine administration experience.
  • CPR certification.
  • TB screening required if selected.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-visit planning based on patient visit type.

Job Responsibilities

As a Medical Assistant you will perform clinical tasks such as:

  • You will perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type
  • You will obtain and record medical history and vital signs
  • You will room patients and assist healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments
  • You will perform specimen collection and point of care testing
  • You will prepare and administer medication under the direction of healthcare provider
  • You will ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (HER) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including documentation of HEDIS and Stars quality measures
Required Qualifications
  • An active Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAH, AAMA, AMT, ARMA, MedCa, NAHP, NAHT, NCCT, or NHA
  • Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of MA experience
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Medication/vaccine administration experience
  • CPR Certified
  • We consider this role patient facing and runs the Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, we will require you to screen for TB
Other Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in a PCO center
  • Value-based Care experience includes knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$47,300 - $61,800 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
