Job summary

CenterWell Senior Primary Care in Arlington, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to be the first point of contact for patient care, handling administrative tasks and supporting clinical workflows. The role includes clinical tasks such as discussing symptoms, obtaining vital signs, administering medications and vaccines, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and EMR documentation, in collaboration with physicians.

A HS diploma and CPR are required, TB screening is part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Medication and vaccine administration experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of MA experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR certification.
  • TB screening required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as first contact for patient care and handle administrative tasks.
  • Perform clinical tasks: discuss symptoms, obtain vital signs, administer meds and vaccines.
  • Perform phlebotomy, collect specimens, and conduct diagnostic screenings.
  • Document information in the EMR and collaborate with Physicians and APPs.
  • Deliver patient care within scope of active certification; mentor other MAs.

The Medical Assistant is the first contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative tasks in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant performs advanced administrative, operational, customer support responsibilities that require independent initiative and judgment.
The Medical Assistant performs clinical tasks such as discussing symptoms and obtaining vital signs. Additionally, they administer medications and vaccines, perform phlebotomy, and collect specimens. They also perform diagnostic screening tests, sterilize and clean equipment, and maintain examination rooms. Furthermore, they document information into the electronic medical records system. Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers. Deliver direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows. Decisions typically focus on methods and processes for completing administrative tasks/projects. Additionally, they interpret and adapt procedures, processes, and techniques. The Medical Assistant has advanced skills, contributes to process improvement, delivers in-depth training, and provides advanced guidance/mentoring to other Medical Assistants.

  • Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$44,900 - $60,200 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
