Job summary

Mendocino Community Health Clinic, Inc. in Willits, CA is hiring a compassionate Medical Assistant to join our primary care team. You will support providers, take vital signs, administer vaccines, and help ensure patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical setting.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, utilize our EHR system, and participate in team huddles and quality improvement initiatives. CMA certification and bilingual English/Spanish are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred CMA certification and 1+ year clinical experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for visits, collecting vital signs and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer medications and vaccines per provider orders.
• Perform routine tests (vision, hearing) and assist with lab specimens.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR system.
• Help manage prescription refill requests and medication reconciliations.
• Provide clear patient education and support as directed by the provider.
• Participate in team huddles, trainings, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
• Occasionally travel to support other MCHC sites as needed.
• Gain experience by cross-training in family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, psychiatry, and specialty services.
