Mendocino Community Health Clinic, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support our primary care team in delivering patient-centered care.

You will welcome patients, prepare them for visits, and assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments in a fast-paced clinic. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, vaccine administration, and care coordination, with opportunities to cross-train across family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, psychiatry, and specialty

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for visits, collecting vital signs and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments within your scope of practice.
• Administer medications and vaccines in accordance with provider orders and within the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
• Perform routine tests (such as vision and hearing screenings) and assist with lab specimens.
• Maintain accurate documentation using our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
• Help manage prescription refill requests and medication reconciliations.
• Provide clear patient education and support as directed by the provider.
• Participate in team huddles, trainings, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
• Occasionally travel to support other MCHC sites as needed
• Gain experience by cross-training in family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, psychiatry, and specialty services

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• At least one year of experience in a clinical setting
