Job summary

Mendocino Community Health Centers (MCHC) seeks a caring Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinic. You will welcome patients, take vitals, assist with exams, administer vaccines, perform routine tests, and maintain accurate EHR documentation.

This role offers cross-training across family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, psychiatry, and specialty services, with occasional travel to other MCHC sites.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for visits, collecting vitals and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments within scope of practice.
• Administer medications and vaccines per provider orders and MA scope.
• Perform routine tests (vision/hearing) and assist with lab specimens.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR system.
• Assist with prescription refills and medication reconciliations.
• Provide patient education and support as directed by the provider.
• Participate in team huddles, trainings, and QA efforts.
• Occasionally travel to support other MCHC sites as needed.
• Cross-train in family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, psychiatry, and specialty services.

MCHC is looking for a caring, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our collaborative primary care team. In this role, you’ll support providers in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical environment. What You’ll Do

• Welcome and prepare patients for visits, collecting vital signs and health information
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments within your scope of practice
• Administer medications and vaccines in accordance with provider orders and within the Medical Assistant scope of practice
• Perform routine tests (such as vision and hearing screenings) and assist with lab specimens
• Maintain accurate documentation using our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
• Help manage prescription refill requests and medication reconciliations
• Provide clear patient education and support as directed by the provider
• Participate in team huddles, trainings, and continuous quality improvement efforts
• Occasionally travel to support other MCHC sites as needed
• Gain experience by cross-training in family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, psychiatry, and specialty services

Requirements
