The role involves supporting physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses by taking vitals, assisting with examinations and procedures, and providing translation services.

Responsibilities include:

1. Preparing patients for examinations and assisting providers during procedures.
2. Taking vital signs, height, weight, plotting growth charts, and administering immunizations.
3. Performing laboratory and screening tests such as visual acuity, audiometric screening, Snellen tests, spirometry, and EKGs.
4. Providing counseling, care, follow-up instructions, health education, and materials as directed by providers.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clinical Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved school or hospital, including externship verification of 6 months’ clinical experience. (Back office MA experience may substitute for externship.)
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Current CPR certification.
• Phlebotomy experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least one year of back office experience in a clinical setting.
• Phlebotomy certification.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Knowledge of back office procedures such as vitals, venipuncture, and immunizations.
• Proficiency in medical terminology in English and Spanish.
• Emergency response skills.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, email, and internet research.

Compensation:

Pay range: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour.
