Responsibilities
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all vaccines in the clinic, delegating duties as appropriate.
- Support healthcare providers by taking vitals, assisting in examinations, and performing specific procedures.
- Complete and monitor lab work for quality assurance and compliance with auditing standards.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures.
- Oversee receipt, storage, and transport of vaccine shipments.
- Ensure the use of current Vaccine Information Statements.
- Maintain documentation for storage and handling as per CDC guidelines.
- Maintain storage equipment in compliance with CDC standards.
- Keep records for Vaccines for Children (VFC) and Adults (VFA) programs.
- Manage vaccine expiration and spoilage reports and returns.
- Organize and inspect vaccine storage units daily, rotate stock, and remove expired vaccines.
- Coordinate with the San Diego Immunization Registry/Public Health Department for vaccine transfers.
- Maintain calibrated digital data logging thermometers for storage units.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clinical Medical Assistant Certification from an approved program, including externship.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Current CPR certification.
- At least one year of back-office experience in a clinical setting.
- Phlebotomy experience; certification preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of back-office procedures such as vitals, venipuncture, and immunizations.
- Proficiency in medical terminology in English and Spanish.
- Emergency response capabilities.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and email communication.
Pay Range
$23.00 - $25.00 DOE
