Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in New Jersey is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support our exam rooms and providers. Responsibilities include patient setup, vital signs, EKGs, medication reconciliation, and documenting visit reasons.

You will interview patients about changes in health, assist with minor procedures, prepare injections, and handle phone messages, faxes, and routine front-desk tasks. Knowledge of insurance terminology and general office procedures is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with vital signs and basic EKGs preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and front-desk tasks helpful.

Responsibilities

• Set up patient in exam room and prepare for visit.
• Perform and document vital signs, EKGs, reconciliation of medications, reason for visit.
• Interview patient changes in health since last visit.
• Assist the provider with minor surgical procedures.
• Prepare medications for injections and manage communications.
• Handle phone messages, faxes, and general medical reception duties.

Short Description
