Job summary

Texas Health Care PLCC is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) for a busy primary care setting. You will greet patients, document medical history, assist providers with exams and procedures, and support administrative tasks as needed.

3+ years in primary care, EMR NextGen experience, strong communication and critical thinking are essential. Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical protocols required; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not

Qualifications

• Must have CMA or RMA certification.
• 3 years of experience in primary care.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
• Previous EMR/EHR experience with NextGen is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical protocols.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Obtain and document vital signs medical history and reason for visit

• Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record EMR system
• Provide patient education and instructions as directed by the provider
• Ensure exam rooms are clean stocked and properly set up
• Support quality improvement initiatives including patient recall preventive screenings and care gap closures
• Assist with scheduling referrals and prior authorizations as needed
• Follow infection control and safety procedures

• Administer injections and perform EKGs venipuncture and other lab procedures as needed


• Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record EMR system


• Provide patient education and instructions as directed by the provider


• Ensure exam rooms are clean stocked and properly set up


• Support quality improvement initiatives including patient recall preventive screenings and care gap closures

Job Requirements

• Must have a CMA or RMA current certification


• 3 years of experience in primary care

Hours

• Monday Thursday 715 am 400 pm


• Friday 715 am 245 pm


• must be flexible and available for Saturday clinic at least once a month from 8am 12pm


• Bilingual in English Spanish preferred but not required
