Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant in Oconomowoc, WI to support dermatology visits. You will room patients with the dermatologist, document vitals, and help prepare exam rooms in a fast-paced setting.

The position requires MA education/certification with EMR proficiency; travel to other clinics may be required. Competitive benefits and PTO are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).
• Post High School education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documenting all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments
• Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as: surgical photographs, biopsies, excisions, electrodessication and curettage, I&D, Mohs surgery, phototherapy, injections, Koh preps, Trichograms, Tzank preps, dermabrasion, patch testing, blue light

Tuesday 8:00a-4:00p

Wednesday 7:00a-4:00p

Thursday 7:00a-4:00p

The Medical Assistant is essential during the patient visit, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information


• Scribing information for the dermatologist


• Providing post op wound care to patients


• Drawing blood and suture removal

• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave


• Excisions


• Electrodessication and curettage


• I&D


• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery


• Phototherapy


• Injections


• Koh preps


• Trichograms


• Tzank preps


• Dermabrasion


• Patch testing


• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Post High School education in a medical support field:

Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred


• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment


• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed


• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems


• Must possess organizational and communication skills


• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors


• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
