Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant to support dermatology visits and procedures in a fast-paced clinic. You will room patients, document vitals, and assist the dermatologist in the exam room to maintain an efficient, patient-friendly environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with CMA/LPN/RN preferred and experience with EMR systems, Excel, and office software. Travel to other clinics may be required; strong teamwork and multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Post high school medical support training preferred.
• CMA, LPN or RN strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with computers and EMR systems needed.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and document vital information.
• Scribe information for the dermatologist in the room.
• Provide post-op wound care as needed.
• Draw blood and perform suture removal.
• Clean and stock exam rooms; schedule appointments.
• Assist dermatologist with procedures and biopsies.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Post High School education in a medical support field:

Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
