Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced dermatology practice. You will room patients, assist the dermatologist during visits, and help ensure a smooth, patient-friendly environment.

A CMA/LPN/RN background is valued, with EMR and Microsoft Office proficiency. The role includes rooming, scribing, wound care, phlebotomy, and assisting with dermatology procedures such as biopsies, Mohs-related tasks, and injections.

Qualifications

• Post-high-school education in a medical support field is required.
• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office is preferred.
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documenting vital information.
• Scribing information for the dermatologist.
• Providing post op wound care to patients.
• Drawing blood and suture removal.
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms.
• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Assist dermatologist with procedures such as biopsies, Mohs surgery, injections, and other dermatology procedures.

Summary

The Medical Assistant is essential during the patient visit, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.

Qualifications

Education

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
