Job summary

Forefront Dermatology in Sycamore, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time, on-site role. You will support the dermatologist during patient visits, room patients, scribe for the physician, and help with routine procedures.

The ideal candidate has CMA certification or is in a tech program; 1+ year experience preferred; proficiency with EMR and MS Office; must be able to travel between clinic locations as needed. Base pay is $18-$24 per hour; excellent benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant or DERM Tech a plus.
• Must keep current on state certifications/licensing/registrations.
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Proficient with computers including Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and document vital information.
• Scribe information for the dermatologist.
• Provide post-op wound care.
• Draw blood and remove sutures.
• Clean and stock exam rooms.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Assist dermatologist with procedures such as biopsies, Mohs surgery, injections.

Monday 9:00a-6:00p

Tuesday 7:00a-6:00p

Wednesday 7:00a-6:00p

Thursday 8:00a-4:00p

The Medical Assistant is essential during the patient visit, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team

For this position, the base pay range is $18.00 - $24.00 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education, certification, or training.
