Job summary

Forefront Dermatology in Pennsylvania is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the dermatologist during patient visits, rooming patients and maintaining a friendly, efficient environment. You will scribe, assist with procedures, draw blood and manage postoperative wound care.

Requirements include CMA/LPN/RN credentials with state certification, strong organizational and communication skills, and willingness to travel to other clinics as needed. Full-time with comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Post-high-school education in a medical support field.
• Must keep current on state certifications, licenses, registrations.
• Willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Experience in a medical office is preferred.
• Proficiency with computers, MS Office and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and document vital information.
• Scribe information for the dermatologist.
• Provide post-op wound care to patients.
• Draw blood and perform suturing when needed.
• Clean and stock exam rooms; schedule appointments.
• Assist dermatologist with procedures including biopsies, Mohs surgery, injections, patch testing and more.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
