Job summary

Forefront Dermatology in Missouri is seeking a Medical Assistant to support dermatologists during patient visits, helping maintain a friendly and efficient environment for patients and staff. The role entails rooming patients, scribing for the dermatologist, wound care, phlebotomy, and preparing exam rooms.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year medical office experience, CMA/LPN/RN certification or completion of Forefront Derm Tech cert, proficiency with EMR systems and MS Office, and strong

• Post-secondary education in medical support field; CMA/LPN/RN preferred or equivalent.
• Certification as Medical Assistant (CMA, LPN, or RN) is required or Forefront Derm Tech certification must be completed within the prescribed time.
• Must stay current on state certifications, licenses, and registrations to maintain employment.
• Willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and document all vital information.
• Scribe information for the dermatologist.
• Provide post-op wound care to patients.
• Draw blood and perform suture removal.
• Clean and stock exam rooms.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Assist the dermatologist with procedures (biopsies, Mohs surgery, phototherapy, injections, etc.).

Qualifications

Education

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
