Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the dermatologist during patient visits in a fast-paced clinic. You will room patients, document vital information, and assist with procedures.

This full-time role offers benefits including health insurance, HSA contributions, PTO, life and disability insurance, a 401K with employer contributions, and profit sharing. Travel to other clinic locations may be required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus.
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations.
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
• Must possess organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work well both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documenting all vital information.
• Scribing information for the dermatologist.
• Providing post-op wound care to patients.
• Drawing blood and suture removal.
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms.
• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Assist the dermatologist with procedures such as biopsies, excisions, Mohs surgery, and other dermatology-specific procedures.
• Support with photos, injections, and various dermatology prep tasks.

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
