Job Description

Under the supervision of the Clinic Manager, the Referral Specialist supports medical providers by coordinating patient care inside and outside the facilities. Responsibilities include completing referrals, obtaining prior authorizations, and supporting patient-centered care through coordination with providers and patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Expedite referrals entered into the electronic health records system (EHR).
• Schedule referral appointments and inform patients of details.
• Track referrals for completion and receipt of records.
• Assist with scanning reports into EHR.
• Protect patient confidentiality.
• Provide referral authorizations and obtain prior authorizations for services.
• Verify patient eligibility and contact information.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Monitor emails for updates and communications.
• May need to cover at other sites if required.

Pay and Benefits
