Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the dermatologist in daily patient visits, rooming patients, and documenting vital information to ensure smooth, efficient care.

You will scribe for the dermatologist, assist with post-op wound care, draw blood, and help maintain clean, stocked exam rooms while scheduling appointments. Travel to other clinic locations may be required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent medical office experience preferred.
• Maintain current state licenses and certifications.
• Willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed

Responsibilities

• Room patients and document vital information
• Scribe information for the dermatologist
• Provide post-op wound care to patients
• Draw blood and remove sutures
• Clean and stock exam rooms
• Schedule patient appointments
• Assist the dermatologist with procedures (biopsies, excisions, Mohs surgery, phototherapy, injections)

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Post High School education in a medical support field:

Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
