Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to help keep days running smoothly for patients and the clinical team.

You will proactively prepare patient charts and support physicians and nurses during examinations and procedures, ensuring information is up-to-date for on-site patients. The role includes front office duties and patient check-in tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or completion of a U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program.
• Demonstrated experience with computer programs utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

• Maintains hospital standards of zero tolerance for mislabeled specimens and collects laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol.
• Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested.
• Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies.
• Assists in patient/equipment preparation.
• Performs follow-up actions as directed.
• Completes hospital forms per protocol.
• This position will include front office duties.

Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site.

Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.

Required

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. and a graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or completion of an U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program
• Demonstrated experience with computer programs utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred

• Previous MA experience
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
• Previous experience in designated specialty
• Bilingual skills
