TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Medical Assistant in Philadelphia, PA for our client. This role supports a busy outpatient specialty practice by providing both clinical and administrative assistance to physicians and patients throughout the care process. Responsibilities include assisting with patient visits, performing clinical procedures, coordinating diagnostic testing, administering injections, maintaining accurate medical records, and supporting daily office operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities as the Medical Assistant:

  • Clinical Support: Administer allergy injections, monitor patients following treatment, and assist physicians with patient examinations and clinical procedures.
  • Diagnostic Testing: Perform allergy testing, including food, environmental, venom, drug, and chemical testing, as well as pulmonary function testing.
  • Patient Care: Respond to patient phone calls and messages, provide excellent customer service, and ensure a positive patient experience throughout each visit.
  • Administrative Support: Complete insurance authorizations, maintain accurate patient records, perform data entry, and assist with scheduling and clinical documentation.
  • Inventory Management: Restock medical supplies, maintain exam rooms, and ensure clinical areas remain organized and fully equipped.
  • Compliance & Operations: Follow established clinical protocols, maintain accurate documentation, and support efficient day-to-day office operations.

Qualifications for the Medical Assistant:

  • Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification, or five years of continuous Medical Assistant experience will also be considered.
  • Certification: BLS/CPR certification is required. CMA or RMA certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient, specialty, or physician office setting is preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience assisting with injections, diagnostic testing, insurance authorizations, electronic medical records, and patient care within a clinical environment is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic medical records, Microsoft Office, and general computer applications is required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills with excellent attention to detail, the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively as part of a team.
