Job summary

JourneyPure in Norris, TN seeks a detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support clinical operations within a fast-paced behavioral health setting. You will assist with intake, vitals, documentation, and maintain exam rooms under supervision of physicians and nursing staff.

CMA preferred and EMR/EHR proficiency are valued; you will help ensure HIPAA compliance, coordinate lab work, and schedule appointments while delivering compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
• Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or clinical setting preferred
• Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems and medical terminology
• Strong organizational and patient care skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with client intake, vitals, and medical history documentation
• Support physicians and nursing staff with clinical procedures
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and medical equipment
• Administer medications as directed and within scope of practice
• Maintain accurate EMR/EHR records and documentation
• Coordinate lab work and specimen collection as needed
• Ensure HIPAA and healthcare regulations compliance
• Provide excellent patient care and support throughout treatment
• Assist with scheduling and coordination of medical appointments
• Other relevant duties as assigned
