Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient encounters and clinic operations. You will screen patients, gather information, and assist physicians during visits in line with age-specific needs, ensuring a clean and efficient exam room.

You will contribute to overall patient care and clinic workflow. The role emphasizes readiness to handle various administrative tasks, with preference for CMA or RMA credentials and prior experience in medical office settings.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant Training or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience: prefer at least one year in clinical/physician-office settings; ER and/or hospital patient care experience preferred.
  • Preference for CMA or RMA certification.
  • Experience in office clerical activities desirable.

Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant Training or equivalent experience required.
Experience
  • Prefer at least one year experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room and/or a hospital setting that provides patient care.
  • Prefer medical office, insurance, referral and prior authorization, hospital or computer experience.
  • Experience in office clerical activities desirable.

(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)

Licensure/Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.
  • CMA or RMA preferred.
Compensation/Benefits
  • $15.46-$25.24/hr depending on previous work experience.
