Job summary

Norman Regional Health System in Norman, OK is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support clinicians in daily patient care. The role screens patients, gathers information, and assists during visits, ensuring age-appropriate care and smooth clinic operations.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with an accredited Medical Assistant program, with CMA/RMA preferred and BLS maintained. Prior clinic/ER experience is valued; good communication and clerical skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with completion of accredited Medical Assistant Training program.
  • Preferred CMA or RMA certification; BLS required and maintained.
  • At least 1 year experience in clinical/physician-office or ER/hospital setting.
  • Experience in office clerical activities desirable.

Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant Training or equivalent experience required.
Experience
  • Prefer at least one year experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room and/or a hospital setting that provides patient care.
  • Prefer medical office, insurance, referral and prior authorization, hospital or computer experience.
  • Experience in office clerical activities desirable.
(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)
Licensure/Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.
  • CMA or RMA preferred.
Compensation/Benefits
  • $15.46-$25.24/hr depending on previous work experience.
