Job summary

Primary Vascular Care is seeking a Medical Assistant/Front Desk coordinator to join our caring team in New York. This role offers five-day schedules (Mon–Fri) with 8-hour shifts across our Brooklyn and Bronx centers and associated nursing home sites.

You will support patient care, ensure clear communication of protocols, maintain documentation, and assist nurses during examinations and procedures, with travel between centers as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of patient care experience.
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Willingness to travel between centers.
  • Ability to lift and assist patients.
  • Comfort working in patient recovery settings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a car.
  • Vaccines up to date as required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure seamless communication of protocols, policies, and workflows within our Vascular Care Center recovery area.
  • Provide compassionate post-procedure care, addressing comfort, safety, and dressing needs, and nutritional support for patients.
  • Act as a vital link between physicians, nurses, and patients, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patients’ procedures daily.
  • Support registered nurses during examinations and procedures.
  • Assist in lifting and transferring patients to and from stretchers and wheelchairs.
  • Collaborate with management in overseeing and restocking medical supplies and equipment while ensuring a sterile environment.
  • Safely dispose of biohazardous materials according to regulations.
  • Exhibit flexibility and adaptability as a team member, with willingness to work additional hours if needed.
  • Uphold professionalism in interactions with patients, physicians, and team members.
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations and adhere to office safety protocols.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management and medical staff.

  • Updated physical, vaccines, and titers: PPD/TB, Hep B, MMR, Varicella.

  • COVID-19 and flu vaccinations are preferred.

  • Ability to lift andassistpatients as needed.

  • Willingness to travel between multiple Vascular Care Centers.

  • Comfort working in patient recovery settings.

  • Strong assessment skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have a car.
