Job summary

Private Dermatology Practice in Midtown Manhattan seeks a energetic Medical Assistant to support our clinical team and deliver exceptional patient care. This full-time role requires hands-on clinical skills and a patient-focused approach in a fast-paced dermatology setting.

You will assist physicians during visits and procedures, manage EMR documentation, coordinate front desk tasks as needed, and help maintain organized, sterile spaces.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in dermatology and surgical assisting.
• Experience with dermatologic surgery and cosmetic treatments including laser procedures.
• Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR systems; eClinicalWorks a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to multitask under pressure.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Clinical & surgical support: room patients, prep procedure rooms, assist physicians during visits, biopsies, excisions, and cosmetic procedures.
• EMR & documentation: accurately document patient histories and clinical notes in real time.
• Patient care & communication: manage prior authorizations, communicate via phone/portal, and guide patients through pre- and post-procedure care.
• Practice maintenance: keep spaces organized and sterile, ensure equipment sterilization, and manage inventory.
• Medical receptionist floater: cover front desk tasks including check-in/out, scheduling, phone management, and insurance verification.

Join our dynamic dermatology team in Midtown Manhattan! We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support our clinical team and deliver exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities

• Clinical & Surgical Support: Efficiently room patients, prepare procedure rooms, and directly assist physicians during medical visits, biopsies, surgical (scrubbing in for excisions), and cosmetic procedures (injectables, fillers, lasers).
• EMR & Documentation: Help physician accurately document patient histories and clinical notes in real time using EMR scribing workflows.
• Patient Care & Communication: Perform prior authorizations for prescriptions as needed. Communicate with patients via phone or portal to address any issues as they arise. Guide patients through pre- and post-procedure care instructions with empathy, professionalism, and clarity.
• Practice Maintenance: Maintain organized, clean clinical spaces, ensure proper equipment sterilization, and keep medical inventory stocked.
• Medical Receptionist Floater: Ability and willingness to cover the front desk with all relevant tasks, including but not limited to patient hospitality/check-in/out, scheduling, phone management, insurance verification, gathering patient information and updating chart.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in dermatology and surgical assisting required.
• Cosmetic & Procedure Knowledge: Experience with directly assisting in dermatologic surgery and familiarity or hands-on experience with cosmetic treatments and laser procedures is required.
• EHR/EMR Proficiency: Hands-on experience with electronic health records systems is required; eClinicalWorks experience is a major plus.
• Professional Attributes: Excellent interpersonal skills, a strong team-player attitude, and the ability to multitask gracefully under pressure.
• Education: Bachelor's degree required.
