Forefront Dermatology in Monroeville, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced team. You will accompany the dermatologist in the exam room, document vital information, and help maintain a friendly, efficient patient experience.

This full-time role includes rooming patients, assisting with procedures, charting, scheduling, and post-op wound care. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth, with travel to other clinic locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field with CMA certification.
• 1+ years recent medical office experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Proficiency with computers including EMR systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documenting vital information for the dermatologist.
• Scribing and assisting with dermatology procedures as needed.
• Providing post-op wound care and drawing blood when required.
• Scheduling patient appointments and maintaining exam rooms.
• Supporting the dermatologist with phototherapy, injections, and minor procedures.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
