Job summary

Forefront Dermatology in Kitty Hawk, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the dermatologist during patient visits. The role involves rooming patients, documenting vital information, and assisting with procedures in a fast-paced clinic.

Candidates should have post-high school medical support education and be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed; CMA/LPN/RN credentials are preferred and ongoing certification is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus.
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment.
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems.
• Must possess organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information.
• Scribing information for the dermatologist.
• Providing post op wound care to patients.
• Drawing blood and suture removal.
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms.
• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Assisting The Dermatologist With Procedures Such As: Surgical photographs, Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave, Exisions, Electrodessication and curettage, I&D, Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, Phototherapy, Injections, Koh preps, Trichograms, Tzank preps, Dermabrasion, Patch testing, Blue light.

Qualifications

Education

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
